Author Topic: Every time I launch TF2 it has to validate?  (Read 932 times)

Recently, every time I log on to steam and play tf2, it has to sit there and validate for 10 minutes, it's annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this?

also it sticks at 100 for like 5 extra minutes.

I've been having the same problem with tf2 on my laptop, but I've never had it happen on my desktop

Try defragging, or deleting the clientregistry.blob

It is not recommended to delete the Old.blob as it may be used later to determine recurring issues.

if you mean rename clientregistry.blob to oldclientregistry.blob and restart steam, then yes.

Validate the cache files before playing. Each time.

It's just steam doing that because.
just let it run its course.

Takes me like 30 minutes to do this bullstuff.

same here.

i really have no idea how to fix this, though.

You need to delete all your files and re-install. Sorry guys I've looked far and wide but it's the only solution that's worked for me.

validating files is some new steam bullstuff that stops the consumer from getting to his games by an extra 10 minutes
good god it takes loving forever to play my games now
