if the plurality or majority of the american public disagrees with your positions on almost everything, you had to have made your opponent look so bad that they felt obligated to vote for you
Or the majority of the American public does in fact not disagree with you on most things, and you received the majority vote because you were the better candidate for the office.
Thus leaving many people butt-hurt, clinging to every last hope that the election was rigged and society will soon devolve into an apocalyptic hellscape of fire and biloveuals where the common rifle-carrying, bible-thumping redneck will reclaim what was once the United States of America.
