Author Topic: Super max shaders?  (Read 1572 times)

I remember there was a console command/value you could change to make the shaders go beyond max, anyone know it?

i think it was added into options as an actual setting?

Close. The original highest setting was "High." The console command could raise the shader level to what has now officially been turned into two options in the graphics menu - "Very High" and "Max." If I remember correctly, the value used for "Max" is 6, and that's as high as it goes.

We're lucky enough to have shadows and shaders, so I don't think Badspot or kompressor will use a different type of shadow drawing technique - so what we have know is as good as it gets. I forget what Badspot said it's called, but he has explained it. If you want to increase the sharpness, you can always lower the View Distance in the Environment Settings.

Yeah it was.

I want higher than max :c

Lower your view distance.
:O
Now it only needs anti-aliasing and colored shadows from transparent bricks.

colored shadows from transparent bricks.
YES, that would look SO COOL.

YES, that would look SO COOL.
wha...
Why was this not added before?

Super max would be nice, but max is pretty good, and that's already laggy enough.

Because that would be really hard to do?

Ontopic: Optionsdlg.setShaderQuality(8);

Edit: This no longer works I guess, cause it just sets it to "off".

There is actually a graphical setting called "GPU Melt", and I can't find it on any other computers than mine and my brother's computer. I am not able to test it, but I swear that it shows up in my options menu.

Super max would be good if you had like
Geforce GTX 790

or i27

Something like that

we conducted a funeral for it shortly afterwards
