This is all too much for me to take seriously, if the Russians want to take themselves seriously they should probably rewrite their coverup.

1) EMP isn't caused by a meteor.
2) Why are the local police on high alert?
3) Why did they scramble the russian air force to deal with this? which leads to the next point which is
4) Why wasn't it noticed BEFORE it entered the atmosphere?

As far as I know they're still trying to figure out what all happened, there's conflicting reports and they're not 100% sure what caused what. Those questions might be legitimate after a few days, but as of now they're probably not sure of the answers themselves.
