Author Topic: don't you think BL physics are a bit too "bouncy"?  (Read 1335 times)

specially when racing, you end up ramming into something/someone and go fly into the water i hate things like that.
don't you wish the physics were a little more stable?

I agree, however, Badspot is looking into it.

The physics are a bit bouncy, and I don't like how when you hit into a building from a 45 degree angle you get stuck instead of sliding along the side (like in halo). The physics are a bit bouncy, but that may be adjustable in the vehicle's datablock. The car physics are actually really nice if you look at how the body sways on the wheels.

Yes, they are.
No, we can't do anything about it.

Badspot is planning to update the whole physics mess sooner or later.

Blockland psychics are fun and I wouldn't enjoy racing as much as I do if you didn't have a laugh sometimes because of various awkward moments where people go flying and stuff.

I'm not saying that I want bad psychics just because I like people flying, it's just that blockland psychics is what makes blockland blockland and without it's characteristic psychics you could just as well go play some other racing game.

Just as I like the whole "jump and crouch" combat in dms. You don't get these kind of stuff in other games.

It's the charm with blockland.

wait where does it say this?

thats just what i mean we should atleast get to choose bouncy physics or a bit stable physics

Actually, the bouncy vehicles are the fault of the people that code them. You can code your vehicles to not be so bouncy when they hit things.

People normally put very little effort into coding their vehicles and simply use the Jeep's code. (which happens to be extremely bouncy)

Yeah, theres a could things you can change in the datablocks of the springs connecting the tires to the vehicle chassis I believe

wouldn't not making them bouncy make them get stuck though rather than bouncing?

You can also change the overall bounciness of the chassis on collision I believe.

I'm not sure really.

Not accustomed with these kind of stuff, but I would believe that that's the case.
