I'm also really confused on what a legitimate tactic to fighting the UFO is.
The game kinda says forget you on ranged weaponry until higher tiers and melee is a joke on him. I only beat it because I had a small amount of med supplies and I built a fort with plenty of protection and a bed to rest in to get HP during the fight. I'm starting to get the idea that fighting in this game is going to be boring as hell.

don't bother even using ranged weapons what we did was quickly built towers out of dirt, hit it a few times, and then hid down low to draw it down and repeated

Also it seems avains are one of the few Peaceful races.
The apex kill things for experimenting
The Florans steal stuff and kill things
and Humans are well..... Humans.
IDK about Glitch or Hylotl though.

im not Bitching and moaning, Im just pointing out that they are one of the few peaceful races.

I'm not talking about just that post. Most of your posts are about how avians are better than every other race.

the races are extremely different -- the item examinations show it best:

Weird Apex desk	The coffee mug and the lamp are just for show. They're stuck to the surface.	A strange table... the objects on top are stuck to it.	Why Apex ssstick object to desk?	Amused confusion. Objects fused to desk surface. Can not remove.	What the... the mug and lamp are stuck to the desk. Is this just for show?	A fake set of objects are fused to this desk. What mischief is this? Avian altar	An altar. It's covered in intricate carvings of an Avian with wings.	This altar is covered in carvings of Kluex. The Stargazers use it to commune with Kluex and bid him accept the dead into the aether. Offerings are often made here.	Ssstone bird man carved on ssstone table.	Confusion. This altar appears to have religious purpose. I no longer understand religion.	An altar covered in Avian carvings. Perhaps this is their god?	Such piety is not the way forwards.	Death to heathens!
	The Hylotl appear to value their language enough to treat it as art.	Uninspiring to all but the Hylotl.	Looksss like pattern of ssstabs.	Critical. Perhaps the Hylotl should frame the word 'hubris' instead.	This is like one of those modern art pieces. I'm not a fan.	The stark beauty brings tears to my eyes.	Death to heathens!

Hylotl are majorly pacifists and are highly empathic to other races, seek to help them, et cetera, if in a sort of "mold them in our image" kind of way.
Glitch are robot slave dudes that gained sentience and their hivemind is in like a permanent depression or something.

Hold shift. Also right click.

Protip: Hold shift with any block/tool to only place/dig one block.
Protip: Use copper ore to repair items.
