Author Topic: Is there something wrong with spending a lot of time playing video games?  (Read 1214 times)

I am just active today, lol.

Anyway, my dad said I was going to go to Couer d alene with my mom and brother tommorow, and I said I dont feel like going there because I've lost contact with all but 1 of my friends there, and I would much rather go somewhere I actually have friends. He then said that I should stop spending so much time wasting my life on xbox and my computer. I then said "Alright I guess I'll go..." And now im here making this topic. My main point is that is spending time playing xbox with a bunch of my close friends who live in another city and talking with people through facebook and browsing the forums a bad thing? I mean, playing xbox with my friends has made me become a lot closer to them, talking on facebook has also made me closer with old friends, and browsing the forums has informed me of current events and taught me a lot of crap about computers and a mixed amount of logic.

What do you guys say?

WEAK!

As long as you take breaks and socialize with real family and friends, why not? Also do your schoolwork.

WEAK!
Because arguing with your parents makes you "Tough." I prefer to listen to my parents, unless its off the charts ridiculous. Plus they signed me up for drivers ed the day before, so I owe them.

As long as you still interact with humans, I see no issue with it. I think spending time, playing with friends, is more useful than reading some silly book or watching junk on TV.

No no and no

What if you're batman?

What if you're batman?
Then you have to fight for Gotham.
No time for games!

?
What did I say wrong? Even Wynd said the same thing.

This reminds me of me when i was younger.

Just try hanging out with real people and walking around your local area. It's fun.

At least for me it is, we have so many abandoned places around here it's not even funny.

I interact with friends at school, after school, and on the weekends. Its just that I have a lot of time to play games and use my computer.

That's not what I was going for at all. :| I wasn't saying fight him to the death to defend your honor. He criticized you for doing what you enjoy doing, and you submitted completely.

Well thanks to play season with a mix of winter swimming, i haven't seen my real friends out of school in a few months. :/

I have a lot of time and i barely spend it playing games. Too much work.

my mom blames everything on the computer.

I still eat, and talk with my parents, but they think i put my life into the computer.
i take showers, eat, and all that stuff and my parents start bitching on how i spend too much time on the comp.

Yes, it's very wrong. You shouldn't be playing video games all the time, you should be reading up on the latest celebrity's twitter post or obsessing over American Idol results.

My parents coped with the fact that i spend a lot of time on my computer. All my friends are very wealthy and leave town a lot so i'm left with my online buddies to keep me company.

My parents happen to know a lot of my best skype pals because we talk so much.

One of them being Toothed_Deer. :)
