Author Topic: Do you miss BL terrains? Do you think they'll come back in the future?  (Read 2475 times)

I for one miss terrains because they were used to host some of the best servers that we don't have anymore. The Blockland community is now lacking entertaining servers and originality. I honestly don't care if people say terrains don't look good, it's a game that consists of blocks it is not supposed to have incredible graphics. I miss terrains because of how much fun I had on them (example servers: Nobot's Deathrace, Jorgur's RPG, Wizzard's Dogfight, amd Pecon's Original Boss Battles. There's much more but those are just some).

terrain wasnt the prettiest, but i havnt seen anything close to replacing the expansiveness that terrain maps could bring. i dont know why everyone began to hate them as soon as the update came out (from what i can tell)

i do wish that terrain and interiors could have been possible with shadows and shaders, but while my computer cant handle shaders, i would rather have shadows and shaders then terrain and interiors

i miss skiing and dogfights

Imo, this is just some plot while badspot fixes up terrain so it will be compatible with shaders/shadows.
I keep telling myself this to make me feel better.

When ever I miss terrains I just play V16. Seriously though old BL files are easy to obtain lol.

Majority of those where just bricks built onto terrain, barely anyone would actually build something from scratch, many people liked them because they just needed to place a couple of bricks around and....bam a quality server made.

Many people hated Shadows and Shaders because it eliminated maps, and map makers thought they where "special" because they knew how to make maps and not everybody knows how, a prime example is a specific someone who got pissed off he couldn't use or make maps anymore and he actually wanted a refund.

In total people later in time learned to like shadows and shaders and start agreeing that getting rid of maps was actually a really good thing.

It will not happen but, Many people made the same thread. So, I miss them a lot but, Lock the topic. It has been done countless times. Shaders and shadows are broken for me because, I have to update some graphic card or some stuff. So, Lock it. The Terrains are pretty stuffty. Interiors are better than Terrains because, they are pretty pointy.

EDIT: I miss the slopes. It was awesome map for good use for skies.

in theory could someone make a .dif (or whatever it was) model of some terrain and apply collision to it?

you're very late

there are enough of these threads

it's not going to happen

people will dislike you

Too late.

Agh the misused commas.

OT:I kind of miss the interiors (Terrains I didn't care for(Except for skiing)), but we have to move on from that. Shadows and Shaders are very nice, and the environmental options are like making your own Slate map.

I hate all terrain and interiors.

I don't care if I can't run shaders, I'd rather have a completely adjustable map.

I'm glad that stuffstain of the past is gone.

You weren't around then (At least as your ID suggest), you don't feel the nostalgia of it.

I liked interiors, but if they held coding back, then I'm glad they're gone.
Terrains were really ugly, but I did like Slopes.
