No he just doesnt know what he is talking about

That's not true.
It's just that Badspot deactivates your key and or IP bans you from the master server.

Oh and no one is going to utter a word.
Put your stuff to sleep bro. If you want people to know it's yours then post it on the forums.
God dammit, when a kid asks you "If I jump of the roof with fake wings, could I fly?," you don't loving say "Well, maybe if you had enough speed, the wings were big and light enough and you angled them right, but it's not a very safe thing to do," you say "No, now take those poster-boards off your arms and get off the goddamn roof!"

@All: Please do the following:

1. Connect to any server
2. Disconnect/disable your internet connection
3. Save bricks (do not request events/ownership)

Did it work? Fill out this survey:
[  ] Yes. Therefore, a server won't stop me from saving.
[  ] No. Therefore, a server can stop me from saving.

Thanks.

What is the point of preventing saving anyway? Any build on a publicly accessible server is public domain.

Because my build is so awesome and cool that I don't want anyone to share the fun or figure out how I did certain things!!

Well, Brian Smith was supposed to be hosting a server so that we could settle the argument over saving protection once and for all, but he never actually hosted the server.

I'm not gonna jump to conclusions because he might actually have just missed the agreed time, but I'm slightly suspicious at this point in time.

maybe someone, y'know, doesn't want their build to be stolen

Seems like the same discussion keeps coming back. Even if you block people from saving "Server-Sided", there is a Client-side way to save a build

How can you steal something that is public domain?

Pointless to argue with them tbh - I could have the same discussion with my two-year-old sister.

You can discuss something with a 2 year old?

Can you just stop, please. You know damn well what he means.

I'm pretty sure his implication is the following:

Port: But any build on a public server is inherently public domain!
