I feel like I won the lottery

Author Topic: I feel like I won the lottery  (Read 635 times)

I just felt like posting this, and
I didn't really win the lottery, but...

Our server got sold on eBay for $630! Me and my brother can finally get the money to build our computers.
Forget an FX 6300 - I might just get a i5 3570K or better.

All I need to buy is a motherboard / cpu combo and a hard drive

Kalphiter is probably going to get business from us soon.

Does anyone recommend any good SATA 6.0 GB/s internal hard drives I could buy? Perhaps an SSD with that?

I'll have to say goodbye to this guy though :

keep that computer and use it to run servers for yourself

Assuming your splitting 50/50; You both will have a budget of $315.
Which won't really get you a decent computer...

Since he's getting a server that's all he needs. He isn't going to have to spend basically anything on graphics so that drops the price an ass load.

Yeah... $630 will be kinda hard...
Me and my brother
Yeah... I don't think you'll get a good computer. You'll be lucky if you get a laptop.

He's going to get an Intel processor. Even the weak Intel processors don't go cheap.
He's at the same price even without a graphics card.

Yeah... I don't think you'll get a good computer. You'll be lucky if you get a laptop. iPad/tablet

Why not just build a new computer slowly with the half he gets. So you would have a spare for anything else.

You might get a netbook for that price.

I didn't mention this before -
I only need a motherboard / CPU combo and a Hard Drive. That's it. I have everything else. Micro Center sells the motherboard and cpu combos really cheap.

I couldn't really afford the computer myself if it wasn't sold since my parents are making me fund it myself.

It's not refurbished and it is actually quality and brand new. An FX 6300 and MSI 970A-G46 bundle costed $150 for my brother.
