night fox clearly uses windows 95 on a toaster

Start-up time is important for me because I'm not going to sit there for a long time waiting for my computer to turn on if I have a limited amount of time and need to get something done fast. With my Mac it barely ever freezes, and I'm able to change my OS from Windows 7 or XP with my Mac using Bootcamp, it's totally worth it. I guess I really like my Mac too because it's convenient. I was raised with them and since my parents are both doctors, they need something that can do the job fast and they commonly use word processing programs to type up notes of their patients. They can't wait 5 minutes for a computer to start up since they have limited time and they can't waste time at appointments.
then don't turn it off every time you leave?
start it up in the morning, and leave it on until you leave/go to bed
five minutes is loving ridiculous haha
five minutes? five minutes is a really small amount of time

What the forget is wrong with you? A normal computer takes 5 minutes to boot, but since you aren't normal I guess that isn't normal for your normal standards.

i've seriously never even breathed on a computer that took more than 2 minutes to boot

i agree +1
I've never used a computer that started up in less than a minute (unless you just mean for the boot screen to pass, that's never taken more than ten seconds. but that is doubtful)
maybe I'm just used to it, or something, but it's never been an issue for me

I don't really have a lot of luck with computers, though, and I can't recall having ever having one that wasn't annoying in nearly every way it could be

yes when you are a doctor
when you reach your workplace, turn it on, then go do other morning stuff, and you've got a turned-on computer when you need it
