both are fine. only reason i like pc better is more programs and games are made for pc. although you can easily run windows on a mac.

For me I'll have to say Mac.

It's quicker, their computers are a lot more durable, you don't contract viruses at all Yes they do. Any and all computers contract viruses. Macs are actually easier targets because the owners don't install anti-virus software., they last a lot longer than Microsoft computers, it's easier to use, and they rarely malfunction. I've had my iMac for 8 years now and still works perfectly. I've had 12 PC desktops in the past 5 years, 11 have broke down already and don't work at all. My only PC that is still working is a Dell (it's my dads computer but it's very slow now, it's always been slow and takes an hour to boot up while my brothers Macbook Pro from 2010 only takes ~25 seconds to boot up) Maybe because you are horrible at making computers not be stuffty. I have a Dell from 2002 and it runs fine since I cleaned it up, removed the viruses, and reformatted the hard drive.. Apple's customer service is a lot better too, since Microsoft charges you 5-10 bucks per every few minutes if you'd like to speak with their customer service, while with Apple it's free of charge. Also the Mac App Store is handy too, so lets say I wanna get Microsoft Word, I can get it in the Mac App Store for 20 bucks, while on my PC it'd cost 200. Apple in my opinion is a lot more worth it, it's expensive, but worth it. This is the fully upgraded Mac Pro as of the 30th of January, 2013.

You're damn right it's more expensive.

I love Linux, IMO. The only reason I don't use it all the time is because most games are made for Windows, and some I can't run through Wine well.

I've never used any desktop OS besides Windows, except for Ubuntu once but that sucked

my windows takes rougly 8 seconds to boot up

why is startup time important? that shouldn't be a deciding factor in what OS you use

You are one lucky guy then. I personally don't like Windows' interface either. I'm about simplicity.

it's not really an ultimate deciding factor, but it's a big one

if i have to wait more than a minute to do anything, there's a problem

between doing things, sure
but when you're starting a computer, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to wait at least five minutes without complaining

no one should have to wait five minutes for a computer to start ..

20-30 seconds max

ok

Start-up time is important for me because I'm not going to sit there for a long time waiting for my computer to turn on if I have a limited amount of time and need to get something done fast. With my Mac it barely ever freezes, and I'm able to change my OS from Windows 7 or XP with my Mac using Bootcamp, it's totally worth it. I guess I really like my Mac too because it's convenient. I was raised with them and since my parents are both doctors, they need something that can do the job fast and they commonly use word processing programs to type up notes of their patients. They can't wait 5 minutes for a computer to start up since they have limited time and they can't waste time at appointments.

five minutes is loving ridiculous haha
