Author Topic: My school WONT CLOSE FOR A SNOW DAY  (Read 1248 times)

Soo, we had a HUGE snowstorm yesterday, and like, every school around us, even schools 2 hours away from us are closed for the day.
Not my school.
My mom, being cool, said she'll call me in sick. Funny thing is, she said, she has the feeling that other parents are pissed that the school is making their kids walk in this, so she's calling later.

This is normal in The Netherlands.
No weather condition closes the school.

our superintendent was like that last year but now hes quitting soon so he doesn't care and gave us half of last week off for a snow day and yesterday and today off as well

my school ALWAYS stays open :c
I wouldn't be surprised if I wen't there tomorrow and all the teachers were like, "Yeaah there was like nobody here!"

I had two snow days as a kid, and both were consecutive.

be it sun
be it storm
I'm staying at home because chicken pox

My district is closed today and the snow hasn't even hit us yet. In fact, it's the nicest it's been in weeks right now lol. We're going to get hit tomorrow so we'll probably have it off too. There goes June. Thanks superintendent.

We've had at least 10 snow days this year. On some of them, not even a single flake fell. On one day when we did have school, I had to wade through a foot of snow for a mile, downhill, in 2˚F, only to find that the bus would be late by 20-30 minutes. That was fun. Guess that's Maine for you.  :cookieMonster:

In the last 3 years, I've had about 1 snow day.
That is in conditions with way more snow than this:

I thought you've encountered more snow days.

Our school should have called one but didn't. I'm staying home.

I live in a place where it doesn't snow. Look at the bright side, the fewer snow days you have the less time your school is extended and the closer to summer vacation you are.

Actually they allow for something like 4 snow days a year before we have to extend it.

I don't get a lots of snow usually.

Maybe 1-2 inches. But lately it's been nice in the 40-50's :)))

you guys are silly, i have to go to a school across the loving city with heavy snow covering the lawns. russia, folks!
