What's new:
It's official, I'm going to Germany. Except now instead of six months, it's one year. I'll be spending my senior year in Germany, going to a private school for students whose parents are from around the world.

I dunno if I'll be able to drive or not, because I've heard you have to be 21 to drive in germany. Aside from that, any recommendations on where to go ANYWHERE in Europe / picture requests?

I'd love to go to germany someday.

The minimum age to drive in Germany is 18 years of age, and you require a valid driving license.
If you already have one, this will likely mean taking another test.

I hope you enjoy Germany and Europe.
I don't know much about German tourist locations, but at the very least, I would suggest Berlin to visit.

And if possible, visiting France is very nice. A train or car-journey can get you quickly to Paris (depending on where in Germany you are), and there are numerous sights to see in France and Paris.

It's not something you have to bring up.
Even if it sits at the back of your head (which it shouldn't, seeing as how it's a concept that was true 93 years ago), you should easily be able to talk about the country without jumping to conclusions or mentioning it pointlessly.

Bullstuff, they're too liberal now.
Complete opposite stereotype.

Go to oktoberfest for the great beer and to oggle the women in dirndls. I would also just generally try tons of food and drink. I would also takes trains to pretty much every major attraction in the Eurozone.

It's a joke. Anyone I've ever known with supposed German "heritage" cries and cries if anyone makes jokes about Germany being national socialists.

They're national socialists about using national socialist symbols now though.

I went to Germany. loving fun as hell. Out of the five places I've been in Europe, that is the one I would definitely go back to.

Yeah.
They boast about free speach, but so much as showing a swastika is a crime.
And it applies to jokes too, episodes of the simpsons and family guy have been banned there for that.
