or, my attempt at recreating it in Blockland!
Development Thing, will be posting dev builds (feel free to yell at me for being bad at coding) and WIP documentation here.
Current Version : Dev2.5 [ALPHA]

As this thread proved unproductive in discussion of the mod, I figured I had enough progress on the script to make a topic.

This is my attempt at doing several things:
1) Creating a successful Wario Ware gamemode modification for Blockland.
2) Creating a script which is commented and scripted in a way specifically for others to hopefully be able to understand its workings by means of extensive commenting.
3) Creating a script which allows coders willing to add on at their leisure without excessive tedium by means of extensive documentation.
4) Finishing a 'big' mod for once. (Albeit this isn't a very large one.)

(bolded because i need this to be noticed)
Ideas for microgames much appreciated! Artists and GUI wizards are wanted for client mod!

I do, however have quite a bit to show with the script:
  • WarioWare 'API' (Game registration, flag registration, related) : DONE
  • WarioWare MicroGame Methods (Necessary functionality for all microgames) : DONE
  • WarioWare Minigame Functions (Round handling, related) : DONE
  • WarioWare Optional Client (Makes the experience overall more enjoyable, however completely optional) : NO PROGRESS
(more detailed list)

Help is much, much appreciated and if you wish to do so, please PM me or message me on Steam (ottosparks, may not be the best option though, as I usually reject steam invites unless I'm expecting them).

This mod will be released when it is finished. I'd like to hear if you are a coder and are interested in developing microgames.

Feel free to suggest ideas of any sort, provide input, offer help, etc.

Also, no closed beta/alpha testing here! All testing of the mod will be completely public unless it's awful or I want it to be a secret!

I doubt it's necessary, but I'll reserve this in case it's needed in the future.

and if you're my friend on steam and want to be a cool guy you should remind me every five nanoseconds to work on this because i'm sometimes a gigantic box of swiss cheese tissues and don't does do stuff

i have no idea if it's necessary at this point, but i may like to also have help with GUI.

Hehe. I tried doing something similar to this once where it was a bunch of minigames taken from the TF2 WarioWare mod. Got it all complete using just events once.

But no-one played it with me and I lost the files. ;-;

Good luck on this!

total ripoff
yeah that ottosparks guy is such a dummbit jeez...

haha really

i wish i could've seen that

haha really

i wish i could've seen that

it had a pretty nice build and most of the microgames from TF2Ware
complete with sounds, image centerprints and winners in the end who get a weapon

Does this require taking copious amounts of weed and letting your imagination run WAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRild? :cookieMonster:

So, uh, any specific reason for what I'd assume is occasionally throwing up a zip on Dropbox instead of using some sort of version control system (like Mercurial or Git) and already established code hosting website (like Google Code, Github, or Bitbucket)?

Generic arena concept. The elevated tiles could be prints or you could just do all of this with custom bricks. Thoughts?

That'd be pretty great for a micro-game of that sort. Thanks for the idea.

Although a good bit of what's needed is a 'skybox' sort of thing around it. I don't really want it to be a solid colour, but I don't have ideas for them.

I considered it. I figured someone would ask, but I never made an answer. It'd definitely be a better idea.

I'd recommend Git on GitHub.

It's just the TF2Ware arena with different colors pretty much..
