All support is welcome, and I am very thankful that we have this forum.

Why would you ever bother getting a raid card? Your motherboard supports more than one hdd. An i7 would probably make no difference to your computer really, but if you wanted to upgrade an i5 3750 would be the same as an i7.

It depends which i7.

Your processor is just fine.

there is a dedicated thread for this, just saiyan

RAID card: If you don't know, then you don't need one.
i7 processor (HyperThreading): Same principle applies, mostly. It might be useful if you need to squeeze every last bit of performance out of it (especially if you plan on running many VMs, or if it's highly parallelizable), but other than that you should be fine with an i5.

Just tell us who you are already, there's no hiding it

You really don't need an i7 if you have a current gen i5 unless you really want to go all-in.  Not even necessary really, as most programs/etc. don't even take advantage of multiple threads it's just an added benefit.

As for a RAID card it's up to you.  Personally I don't need the redundancy simply because I've never done RAID + I don't know how + I can't afford it (but I'm well aware of the benefits).

Please post it on the comp-
