I applaud Roblox for this.
The Tycoons in that games do seem a little off, but think.
You're going from a Chris Sawyer videogame to Roblox. There's not much you can do to copy the original games.
There are a lot of tycoons in Roblox that are fun to play. They seem a little boring at first because you start low, and the money count is a little ridiculous by just waiting for the counter to go, but it's still quite fun.
The best tycoon in Roblox was a Water Tycoon. You had a factory, and a simple conveyor line. You had to actually take your dump truck, drive to the central waterpump, and it will drop giant cubes in your truck. This you then take to your factory, and put on the belt. From here it will go through all sorts of machines, which you add variety by upgrades. I liked the server a lot because it wasn't just "you start your factory and wait for the counter to go" you have to actually get materials and do work.
I can't see this in Blockland, which is a disappointment. It could be done somehow, but just not as efficient as Roblox has it.
We need to remember that, the two games are quite different, and there are a lot that's better from their side, and a lot that's better on ours.
