Author Topic: I have a dedication problem  (Read 517 times)

And I don't like it. Whenever I start something I'm pumped about it for about a week, maybe two, and then just suddenly not want to do it anymore and stop. It's happened with every long-term thing I've tried to do like make a game or something.

Although, me and my brother are working on an awesome game together and that's one thing I'm for certain not going to quit.

Does anybody have any suggestions to keep me from giving up on something after I start?

Keep it a secret until you finish.

Find someone to hold you accountable for it.

You're much more motivated to do something if you feel you're obligated to do so.

This, however, doesn't help with inspiration, and that's something you may have to emulate or force. Thankfully that's a lot easier compared to forcing motivation.

Same thing happens to me.
Except, I'm only "pumped" about it for 3 hours. Either I lose interest or something bad happens.

this happens to me with everything in my life

I have another problem
any time I start something that could be cool, I decide that it's terrible
I really don't have many artistic skills
and even the few that I have, I still think everything I make looks bad
usually it does, but still

Keep it a secret until you finish.
This works for me really well actually

Like, Ill start a build and then never finish it. But I just started doing this.

Keeping my builds secrets makes me pumped to work on them!

in my opinion, not telling anyone would help keep you excited to tell someone when you finish
