Kingdom Hearts is soooo overrated. It's good, but hardly the best PS2 game. It's rife with generic combat and crummy level design. I think people only like it so much cause of the nostalgia of Disney characters.

You can't over-hype a game that's already been released and played, over-hyping is when people get too excited over a game pre-release and start spreading rumors about grande features that will be in it and having unreachable expectations. Also disney being greedy and square enix milking FF are completely unrelated to the quality of the game.

There was over hype before the game came out. There was over hype before the sequel came out. There is so much hype for another sequel currently that has never been confirmed yet.

The game isn't that good, if it didn't have final fantasy characters no one would even like it. Take Epic Micky 2 for example.
