Is 81 degrees Celsius a bad temperature for a GPU to be at?

NVidia sucks imo, it has failed me many times.

I've had bad experiences with nVidia cards being at mild temperatures, even at idle.

ITT: handicaps who don't know safe GPU temps

A GPU can safely run at 80c if it's doing something intensive (AKA bitcoin mining) but if it's idle, that's a bad sign. It won't cause any permanent damage at that temperature, but if it gets into 90-100c you should be worried.

No, that's not a bad temperature for a GPU to be at. It's not a good one either, mind you. But as long as it doesn't idle 80 degrees, you'll be fine.

Dude 81c is nothing. My GPU routinely hit 80c under load, and got as high as 105c before I started seeing fps drops and needed to clean my vents.

How bad a temp is for a GPU is entirely dependent on what the GPU is rated to handle. Laptop GPUs tend to be rated for and handle higher temps than a desktop card, since they're designed with poor cooling in mind.
