I hate the fact we cant just choose ourselves.
Except this time this layout is optional.

It's always optional at first. Then youtube gets rid of the old layout entirely.

Can somebody post a screenshot of it? I'm on a phone and it takes me to to the mobile site

Oh so it's just what it was like a week ago, except with a big ass banner slapped on the top

Thanks for screenshot though

no, you're thinking of the activity feed
that's an actual channel page there

you can customize/rearrange individual sections of the content on it

It's not so much that people hate the new layouts YouTube introduces, it's that they hate anything different.
No it's not that either. I think the main problem is that just when people start to get used to one thing they change it again. They just change their layouts way too much. If it ain't broke, don't fix it :I

That's a terrible philosophy. Resistance to change stifles innovation.

Out of all the websites you use, how many of them let you choose the layout? One, or maybe two?
Or they could take input, do a survey, pretend they care.

looks like a social network

I'd rather have it like the old 2007 layout

Remember when you could go to someones older videos by clicking on page buttons? Not anymore, because every website is changing to blog-like-scrolling where you just load more videos and scroll down! Way more convenient!
