Author Topic: Angry at a man from the 1940s :/  (Read 1057 times)

So I'm reading the book Unbroken and I got to the part where the main character is at a WWII POW camp. At this camp is a man named Mutsuhiro Watanabe or "the Bird"
He's a complete loon who has mood swings and randomly attacks the main character. I cannot express how much in dislike this guy. I know it's a book but I can't get over how creepy he is. The Bird admitted to getting loveual pleasure from abusing the POWs. He also steals the Red Cross food supplies cutting the rations for the POWs.

wow a book actually made you feel something

congratulations you are now an intellectual

I thought that this was a real life thing. Not a book. A most likely fiction book.

Lol are you dumb.

He's attacks the main character based on the fact that the main character was successful in life before the war.  (Because the bird was a failure)

Lol are you dumb.
I've never heard of that book. Maybe I was being dumb.

you should also read it

In my opinion, that's a sign of a good author.

Try reading Elsewhere.

Has nothing to do with war or anything like that, but I got countless feels when I read it.

sounds interesting

I don't read much but the few books I do read I enjoy a lot like Unbroken, Into Thin Air, Hunger Games

Some Animorphs books just tug at my heart strings.

If you ever need book recommendations, dean Koontz writes fantastic horror/mystery novels, some more creepypasta-ish than others.

Also, the night angel trilogy is a good medieval Tri-set of books. Medieval, talks about one bottom of the dirt kid's rise from scum to the most feared assassin in the world. (actually called a wetboy, google durzo flint, he looks like a loving bad ass, that's the main character's teacher, who teaches him by trying to kill him over and over again.)
