well no one has ever needed the huge looping terrains. you cant even view that far, and the gamemodes that used it were horribly done because it was just far to much space for even a deathmatch of 64 players. in any gamemode. if you cant view it (with draw at max), then its to big and the gamemmode is broken)

not to mention the terrains were ugly as all forget. made the game look very very aged.

this

and there has never ever been an interior map, that was so big it couldnt be done with bricks within the limit.

i think people are just lazy.

I think that most of his things were IMPROVEMENTS to other things.
Doors > JVS
Bots   > CRC'd bot events
etc

also
I've never seen ANYONE have a build larger than 256K that took less than a month or so.

edit: holy crap i accidentally flipped the >'s
I meant "added a gamemode" meaning like Speedkart or Rampage gamemode not the gamemode system itself. 256k is def. a lot for me but there are some other people that may like to build enormous builds (lord of the rings, hogwarts, idk). An example would be the creator of Seattle city, he didnt add interiors in all or some of the buildings because of the brick limit. 256k is a lot but if its possible we should push for more.

jvs although looks cool uses up a lot of datablocks and a lot more processing information
so usually it will end up
a few jvs doors or a lot of brick doors
the new bot events are definitely much better than the old one

How about instead of increasing the amount of bricks being to be placed, instead focus on making different bricks so you can place less.

Make spyglass out of modular terrain bricks and i'd believe that

though I do support S/S

wow!!! blockland looked aged in v0002. guess what? they updated the graphics!

The only limits that really bothers me are the light and vehicle limit. Very few people ever build anything that hits the brick limit anyways, so why increase it? I haven't heard much complaints about datablocks either, so why increase that?

As for the updates, I think a lot of the updates that came that were difficult to do with interiors came out with v21. Since then we've had a lot of minor updates, yes. But there's nothing wrong with that. While it's good to focus on bigger things first and then the smaller, you have to focus on the smaller things sometime or they'll never get done. And when better than right after the huge shader update?

Plus bots aren't exactly a small update. I don't know since I don't make add-ons, but I wouldn't be at all suprised if Badspot had to go in and change some of Blockland's core functioning in order to get Bots to work right. And that's something you can't just do with an add-on.

lol the terrains from 0002 were the exact same ones in retail that was JUST removed.

they were never upgraded...

i know that. im saying that graphics have been updated. them being ugly means nothing when badspot can just up the max texture size and make them have more subdivisions. a minor task compared to all the other things he's done. its not like them being ugly is a permanent thing that can't be changed.

I kind of agree, although removing a good part of the game was a step forward, it made a lot of people leave. Those people being the lazy forgets who would put 30 bricks on a map like spyglass and call it "good".

And yes, ALL of these new updates in fact, would or could have been community made projects. Shadows would take a hell of a time to make, and would require tweaks to the engine like crazy. And yes, game modes could have been an addition or add-on, take RTB for example. RTB is a quicker way to download user created mods and add-ons
and there could have been for a faster way to host something similar to which we have today.

Terrain will always be a pure aspect of this game, as it sparked adventure in those maps. The first time I found a secret in bedroom I called all my friends to only find out that they already knew it lol.
