If you actually read stuff instead of just realizing that maps were removed you would know the reason why, which is that they were buggy, caused many limitations, slowed down bricks (bricks are 90% faster now), and made it harder to bring out new updates. Is that good enough for you? With the removal of maps we also got gamemodes (which if you know how to set up) can make certain saves, addons, music files, etc load in rather than having to constantly check/uncheck addons. We are also able to change the sky, ground, and water textures as well as lighting without having to go into a 3D Modeling program and changing the lighting and/or textures, then re-packaging it for something as simple as making it go from morning to night or a different sky texture which we can do in several clicks of a button.
