Author Topic: My friend is bitching at me because I say he's wrong?  (Read 1238 times)

So in DI today, my friend who has absolutely no computer experience told he he was going to build a "leet" (yes he actually described it as that) gaming pc for 250 dollars. I instantly laughed and said that you can't build anything quality with that kind of money. I also mentioned, "Also, you don't have any experience with building computers, watching a video doesn't really help, it's a hands on type of thing.". He blantly says that I don't know what I'm talking about when I fixed his computer about 2 times now due to hard drive failures. I stopped there because I didn't want anything to happen with our relationship as friends, so I said "Whatever, don't blame me if you screw something up and you waste 200 bucks". So what should I do?

If he doesn't want to listen to you, that's his problem.

Trial and error on his part, he will probably be stubborn and refuse to thank you in the end, even though you are correct. This is how Humanity operates.

Watch him horribly fail at attempting building one

reminds me of one guy who eats lunch with me, he hates getting advice

$200 for a "leet" computer? Ha.
What a laugh.

Laugh at him when he builds a really stuffty PC.

I'm not even kidding, he said that he was going to get integrated because it's better for gaming.

I bet he asked some guys who like playing pranks on people

I bet he'll build one with the quality of a 900 dollar prebuilt, which is to say, stuff.

Just laugh at him in the end.  That's what I did when I helped my friend find a good gaming laptop and then he just went off and bought a $2000+ stuffty HP laptop with ATI graphics all because it had a 512GB SSD and he was so impressed by SSDs.

Were you polite about it?

I was trying to, but he was talking to me like I was a 3 year old or something.
