Author Topic: Parents and computers.  (Read 1718 times)

My Dad has another personal computer that I use to play a little computer games and my homework. I never download anything, and he is the one who goes on these very unsafe websites. The computer screen doesn't boot up with the tower because of a loose wire I fixed yesterday(as in plug is in correctly), before then I was always blamed that I put a virus on the computer.

Talk about the parent-generation and how mostly handicapped they are with computers, then blame their kids about those "viruses" and "slow programs." Share your stories.

My dad understands computers.
My mom can't figure out how to do most things.

I'm the most computer software educated person in this home, my dads not far behind.
My mom and sisters.. Oh man I don't even know what to say.

No matter what happens and who causes it its always the kids fault and I have to fix it.

My mother thinks she understands.
My dad can take one apart and put it back together

my dad pirates stuff 24/7, keeps computer on all the time

I download malwarebytes, and run a scan, 15 viruses

my parents tell me to remove malwarebytes because it is one of those "fake antivirus programs going around" and that "it is a virus"

My dad's entire career is around computers. He's made my current tower last 6+ years so far, and he keeps it fairly well updated.

I'm next in line in tech saviness, be it wifi, LAN, computers, programs, hardware, some software, graphics cards... When he needs help or has something useful to teach to me, I'm there.

My mom is pretty good, she works on a lap top all day. She has a basic understanding of most stuff. She knows that if I have a virus, it's not my fault and I probably just picked it up off of a site as a hidden file of some sort, and it gets sorted quickly.

My little brother is a loving idiot. He downloads like seven steam games a day, clicks links without reading them, goes through EVERYTHING he can find, and the second anything goes wrong, he slams his computer equipment around. He's broken five mice (computer mice, don't get butthurt PETA). Worse yet, he'll start cursing and shouting "loving HACKERS GOT MY COMPUTER DAD COME FIX MY GOD DAMN COMPUTER loving HACKERS IM GONNA KILL THEM RAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH"

When really his mouse battery just dislodged considering he's broken the panel that keeps them locked in place. Or something similar. It's always something stupid, never an actual virus (except one time he got a trojan)
