Author Topic: is it worth trying to convince my closed minded catholic friends that...  (Read 1628 times)

If they are trying to shove their religion into your lap, explain that you are trying to be conscious of their opinions and you choose not to shove your agnostic views down their throats, so they should do the same for you.

If they continue, insist that they are doing you no favor, if anything harming your relationship.

If they still continue, hang out with atheist friends and watch them all cringe.

Last girl I dated was catholic, even she was okay with me being atheistic / agnostic. It's more just a matter of accepting the fact that not all people think alike.

say: "guys not cool. swag. i don't care about your onions, you can have them."

does anyone else get a feeling that this thread is a stuff-storm on the brink?

Yeah, just tell them to stop that trying to convert you.

half so... Religion on the internet is a no-go, but this is kind of.. eh. Sort of subtle. the kettle is boiling, but not boiling over.

ill lock it if it gets out of hand

It depends on what you define as shoving down your throat, imo. What are the kind of things they say to you?

You're silly.

You should just tell them to stop talking about religion around you, and try to ignore it.

If it gets out of hand, you can stop being friends with em.

It's just another one of those things that shouldn't be discussed around different people, religion. Basically what others are saying, just tell them to stop, you don't want to hear it. It seems like Catholics and Christians are the worst at keeping their mouth to themself. I go to a youth every Wednesday, and I participate in a lotta their activities, but I still believe gay marriage isn't a problem, along with many other things, and they look down at me for it. It's all a big rolling ball of judgement, really. Just tell em you don't want to mess with it, and stop being their friend if they don't stop.

No, Let them believe what they want. Don't be a richard.

Is this just me or this is the third thread Frankie has made that has something to do with religion or morals or other topics that only end up in flame-wars?

I thought it was the babblefish.

This is an incredibly silly thread and the OP is a silly goose.
