Author Topic: Would you consider this spawn killing?  (Read 2822 times)

So this guy sits outside the opposing team's base waiting for people to come out. When they do, he shoots and kills them. Would you call this spawnkilling? The person denies that it is spawnkilling and complained for 15 minutes of his 20 minute ban after multiple warnings. Thank you for your input!

If the players have their guns out and are able to get a shot at him, I wouldn't consider it spawn killing.

He had over 500 points in Kong's server and had all of the best weapons.

Oh in kong's? Well kong has some crazy op weapons there. If that guy got his hands on the RL or that explosive rounds gun, then they had no chance. I would have banned him.

That's spawn-killing, but if anyone really had the chance to do it; they'd do it if they had skill.

A real easy way to fix this is if there are two or more spawn points/bases.

Or two or more ways to get out of the one base/spawn point. But the ^top^ idea is better

This is (or should be considered) spawn killing because you can consider the players "nonspawned" until they exit their spawnroom/building

When players are in the spawn room, they can't affect gameplay beyond chat (which doesn't do much), and so can be considered as still in the "respawn timer" waiting period. Spawnkilling can also be considered as stopping players from being able to affect gameplay intentionally and unfairly, ruining the fun and skill normal gameplay requires.

Although I would add that if they can kill you, you should be able to kill them.

I played on a server where I trapped a group of people in a building, and even though it was the same building they spawned in, they where able to shoot at me with ease. Didn't feel bad at all.

it is camping
This is more the correct definition

It is spawnkilling, but it should in no way be a punishable offense nor looked down upon.

All your anger should be taken out on the server host. It's a design flaw.

There's several ways to prevent it.

1. Multiple spawn points
2. Indestructible spawn defences, like in Hawken or League of Legends
3. Invulnerability time upon spawning
4. An end goal, instead of a continuous game where the only goal is to rack up points
