Game is usually slow as hell - Now running with no lag?

So I was over at my friend, and we were playing together, (Me using my laptop and he using his desktop)

I was playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which is very laggy for me (5-20 fps) , obviously because I have a mediocre laptop . I decided to leave the device and just close the flap of my laptop, because I had a mission to finish at home. Now, after approx 15 mins. of driving back home, I opened my laptop, and suddenly, my Assassin's Creed is running with NO ENTIRE LAG, better than it has ever ran.

Do you guys have any idea why my AC:B is suddenly so fast?

With my old laptop games weren't as laggy when my laptop wasn't plugged in

Do you mean by plugged in that it is connected with the battery, or something else? I'm not so sure about what you mean...

Well, is there somekind of a program what reduces those processor late limit things, or is there any other way how I could boost my gaming & reduce lag?

EDIT: I just checked the different "states" of my battery, and I had "balanced" on, but I saw a mode which apparently puts your computer at full power, but takes more battery. I will test that now.

Most new laptops switch between performance profiles automatically when the power plug is connected (when your manual option is set to 'balanced')

Change it to the higher setting and you will get the best performance, but your battery is going to die pretty quick.

Alright, let me get this clear. Some people doesn't have some kind of high tech stuff, and I get used to the fps over time. I measured even my current AC:B with fraps, and it goes from 5-15 FPS, and its not even hard to play with.

I just would want to know how I could run it with 30 fps, which I just did, and I was pretty amazed by that.

Also, It still is 5-15 fps even If i changed the battery modes.
