Author Topic: Ubuntu or Windows 8?  (Read 1571 times)

I might be getting a new PC next month, and I've been looking at Ubuntu and it has a pretty cool UI, but I can also get Windows 8. Which one should I get?

>downgrade to windows 7

OP, it depends on what you're using the computer for.

OT: It would depend what you want

Windows 8 does not work well with steam or steam games.

What are you talking about?  I've been running Windows 8 since release with absolutely no issues.

Get Windows 8, people hate on it for absolutely no reason.  Dual boot with Ubuntu if you really want to though, just because running Linux only is rather difficult.

SHUT UP

steam runs better on my windows 8 than it did on my windows 7, stop reading false news articles

Windows XP, thats right. Bringing in the classics.

Me and all my friends still use Windows 7, we will wait for Windows 9. Assuming tablets haven't wiped out desktops by then.

you will get used to it

if not you could just download something to bring the old feel back

I've never actually experienced Ubuntu, so I have no right to judge it.

I looked at windows 8 at a costco, its just like windows 7. Minus the start button(which can be downloaded in), and the ability to alternate between classic and gay boxes.
