Theres this one story I remember reading years ago. It was about a boy and his dog entering a dogsled race in the middle of the book to pay a debt or something. The dog dies right before the boy wins, but a Indian fires his gun into the air and lets the boy carry his dead dog across the finish line. What was the name of this book?
