Author Topic: iPhone - videos pause randomly?  (Read 2358 times)

So I'm trying to watch law abiding citizen and my movie keeps freezing. I've never dropped my phone, and this is the first time I've actually tried watching movies off of my phone. The movie will play for about five minutes, then pause. It's not buffering either, just a random pause.

Ideas aside from "lol iPhone sux get xxx phone"

It's because you're using an iPhone, probably.

Ram problem possibly, these phones are not very memory optimized. What type is it?

Let it buffer.

Did you even read the whole post
It's not YouTube. If buffering was the problem, letting it sit there would mean it would automatically start again.

Are you speaking from experience, or just stating your dislike for the iPhone?

Just checked my stats, I have a free 2GB.

your trying to watch a movie on a phone, it hasnt got the processing power to render the film fast enough because its such a massive file.

Well the thing is I watched the movie previously on my regular iPod and it worked perfectly fine. If that was the case, wouldn't the pauses be more frequent and the pixels be larger?

maybe its not your phone and youtubes severs are just being slow

RAM, not storage

what if you don't have anything else but a phone

Even on computers, videos will buffer at random. You cant help that. However, sometimes if you rewind the video by 2-20 seconds, it'll start working again and load eventually.

Bypassing YouTube's issues like this has been fixed long ago. That will now clear all buffered data so that you can't cheat on the problems.

Are you watching the video in HD? An older Ipod touch doesn't have the resolution that an iPhone 4 and up do. If you're watching it in HD that might be a part of it. Another problem might be that the phone is somehow damaged, and this might be a side effect.
