Author Topic: iPhone - videos pause randomly?  (Read 2360 times)

Bypassing YouTube's issues like this has been fixed long ago. That will now clear all buffered data so that you can't cheat on the problems.

How is it cheating? Please tell me, wise one.

Are you watching the video in HD? An older Ipod touch doesn't have the resolution that an iPhone 4 and up do. If you're watching it in HD that might be a part of it. Another problem might be that the phone is somehow damaged, and this might be a side effect.Stop you don't know what you're talking about.

Yes I do know what I am talking about, it works for me on my iPad as well as my brothers 4th generation iPod Touch which is quite frankly, a mini piece of crap.

How is it cheating? Please tell me, wise one.

Google clearly considers it trying to circumvent YouTube's problems.

I don't care, they aren't going to make me waste my time over a video when I could clearly save that time and resolve the issue myself.

Well there's your problem.
No. That's not his problem. forget off.

Even on computers, videos will buffer at random. You cant help that. However, sometimes if you rewind the video by 2-20 seconds, it'll start working again and load eventually.
only if you have horrible internet

too bad that they patched that workaround though

your trying to watch a movie on a phone, it hasnt got the processing power to render the film fast enough because its such a massive file.

lol, why would apple make an app for youtube than?!?!??!

only if you have horrible internet

My Internet is actually very good, it's YouTube's fault.
Why would they patch us from being able to rewind videos in the first place..? Do they just want more visitors on their site at once?

Guys, it's not youtube, this is a downloaded video, internet speed has nothing to do with it. The file is stored on my phone

jesus forget I didn't think it would be that hard to notice it in the OP.

I went back to figure out my RAM, and I'm not 100% sure on what it could be as it's not in regular settings, and since I updated my OS, I can't launch iTunes as I don't have it.

There is a bar with "capacity" and that's at 13.6 GB, with 2.1GB available. Nothing in my settings mentions RAM. Tbh, I didn't even think iPhones had that much RAM... figured it was dedicated to cookies and temporary files.

The more space you have taken up, the slower the phone will get. Delete some things that you don't use anymore and see if that helps.

When you press play does it immediately switch from  the Pause to Play symbols with in the blink of an eye?

I have a similar (probably the same probably) problem on my iPad. I have it on my Droid too.
I just remember the time it was set at, restart it and play it from there.

I just remember the time it was set at, restart it and play it from there. I'll try that. Do you reset your ENTIRE phone / ipad or just the video?

Probably just video, or the app. You know how to get the multitask bar, right?
