Author Topic: Investments? Iraqi Dinar  (Read 1859 times)

So my boss filled me in on Iraqs currency. Aparently it's worth next to nothing right now ($1,000 gets you 1,000,000 Dinar) and it is said to revalue to about 3 bucks real soon. Before the end of this year. Meaning I'd get like $3,000,000 off this. Me personally think it's..... eh.. to good to be true.

Opinions?

Note: There isn't any sort of scam. Iraqi dinar is infact that low in value and my boss has hard currency. Those facts are true. I'm looking for opinions on it going up in value.

Note 2: It has been worth practically nothing since we USA invaded shortly after 9/11. 10 years ago. Our invasion is what caused it to drop to nothing.

Note 3: President bush said "We will not pay for this war" at the time.

if something seems too good to be true
it's too good to be true.

it's not going to revalue to anything significant anytime soon.

That's kind of what I generally though. But at the same time, Kuwait did this. Lot of investers made quite a bundle. So many ups and downs, it's hard to really pin a good read on it.

At first I thought you were talking about dinner but had just spelled it wrong.

it won't go to anything near 3:1 w/ the US dollar, but I could realistically see it gaining some value.

if it resurfaces to 1 buck that is good enough too
i mean a million bucks is good enough

Kuwait went to $9. Don't think it'll go that far, but hey, ya never know!

Exactly. I don't see it going any lower then .000001 of a dollar.

My dads got some from when he would work over there in Iraq.

i got 600,000 iraqi dinar gold coins.
but the intrinsic value is worth far more then the currency ever will lol

they are trying to make gold plated steel coins now. not sure why they would do that lol.

Why would the Dinar go up?  Who said it'll go up?

everytime you get a hot tip to make investment cash so easily, you gotta think to where that tip comes from, and if THEY have this info, then those professioanl traders at the top must be well aware of it already and the whole plan is washed out.

I'm not saying I'm going to be a millionare tomorrow. But it certainly could happen.

The reason the value would go up is because with a value that low, they cannot be on the WTS (World trade system) not to mention Iraq has more recources then 95% of the other countries. It's where we get our oil.

No it's not we get some oil from iraq, but a majority of our oil comes from North and South America.

bahraini dinar and the kuwaiti dinar are the most valuable mones in the world right now. oman and latvia are third and second.

Bitcoins were 3$ last summer, recently they topped at about 60$ a coin
