soooo yeah, like 3 months ago we decided we're going to move out of the countryish area into the city. We know what area we're going to move to, but not sure what house / part of the city. (No country).

We've looked at many houses, that are over priced and not to our liking. We've done enough house reconstruction over the few years on friends and families houses, so we're not looking for a major fixer-upper.

Today we looked at a house, that LOOKED  good in the pictures, but of course the Realtor made it look really good by only getting certain angles. So we went and looked at the house. We liked it from the outside, 3 and a half stories (Full basement, Full Upstairs, Full middle, and the half was like only like 6 steps down until you reached a den area.) It was nice, until we saw some of the repairs it needed.

1. No drywall, all plaster pretty much

2. Electric was outdated

3. Lots of doors needed replaced

4. Needed lots of repainting

5. Needed some new floors in areas

6. Needed new kitchen sink

7. Needed a new bath tub in the master bedroom

8. 1 step of the stair case leading to the den area was pretty much broken

9. A few more things

And they were asking for 100.8K for this! Also not to mention it use to be a funeral home a long time ago. And it didn't feel homey... It felt like a mini mansion that was for show. Also the house was massively huge...

The Realtor said that "It's a great house for the price!" Yeah that's if you don't think about all the repairs that have to be made and the cost of those repairs.

So my family just marked that off of our list. We're still looking. My parents are looking at some really nice houses. But the prices kinda sky rocket cause they were made about 2-3 years ago.

Also our house now, is in perfect shape, will sell for quite a bit (I think around 100.9K somewhere around there, might be 100.8, not sure.)

So yeah. I'm not upset that we're moving, but I'll be sad that ALL my friends will be 1+ hours away (All my friends already live a half hour away from me). But then again, I can make new friends in the City :P

I do NOT look forward to having to deal with packing and stuff.

Discuss moving experience, or if your going through the same thing.

I've had a moving adventure as well.
