Author Topic: The word "friend" and "Gay"  (Read 1343 times)

i use the words all the time. forget those who would be offended lol. cigarettes

Those gay friends can get over it.

But seriously, people need to chill out a little bit, Yea I see where people are coming off of but they make a big deal over it.

Were any of those words ever put into some official document?
Invalid argument, thousands of words would never be used in any official documents.

I know one more synonym for both of those words.

Pretty much.

If I call someone gay, who is obviously not a homoloveual, nor was that even what I meant by saying it, then people shouldn't overreact. If someone irrelevant to the conversation is somehow offended because I used meaningless slang to insult someone, then that irrelevant person is just being picky and most likely LOOKING for a fight. They can deny it. They can scream "gay rights" at me all they want (and no I'm not against it). But anyone with a speck of common sense would know that it was not aimed to insult homoloveuals. It's the same situation where people have no idea what you said just becaiuse you accidentally added in one letter to an entire sentence.

I find it annoying in the same sense that I find it annoying to say 'swag' or 'yolo' in any matter but a joke.
Not really offensive

I use gay to mean homoloveual most of the time, but as far as I'm concerned "friend" is just an insult

Obligatory
This sums up my thoughts on the word "friend" and I'm not joking when I say that.  I sincerely define the term as someone who acts as a tool or tries too hard to fit in or is just weak-willed.  I can't recall ever using it as an insult to an actual gay person.

During the rise of the red-equals-sign profile pictures on Facebook earlier this passing week one of the guys at my school, who I'm guessing is either a very strong advocate or is closeted (and this is just speaking from an educated-guess-limited-psychology standpoint) homoloveual, suggested using "straight" as a derogatory term.  Honestly, who is going to give that big of a stuff?  I don't think anyone would unless they're that sincerely asshurt that they believe in only pure heteroloveuality and try to forcefully "convert" homoloveuals.  I'm sure you all know who I'm talking about.

I use the term friend as someone pissing me off. However the person I am calling a friend says I am intolerant to gays and I don't mean it against gays.

Doesn't that make them even more of friends?

Coming from a gay:
I honestly don't care what anybody says, the word 'friend' is an insult. Even if it's technically slang, slang is slang. (also coming from a black guy), same goes for the word 'monday'. It's slang, but its still an insult.

I wish people would stop throwing those words around like they're nothing, lol.

"no I'm not a friend because I'm not sticks LOL"

what if I take offense to being called a bundle of sticks because I'm underweight?

It could be considered his fault for being over sensitive to a collection of consonant and vowel sounds.
