Author Topic: People are mad because the Google doodle is about Cesar Chavez and not Easter  (Read 4233 times)

muslims are middleeast, far east is more buddhist and hindu (hindu specifically in India)

I was stating how people in Asia are more likely to be Muslim than Christian, obviously the majority are neither. Also, the fourth most populous country in the world, Indonesia, is a country that has very strong Muslim roots, as with a lot of other South-east Asian countries.

the easter bunny has nothing to do with the original purpose of easter also 1/10 ms paint 2 minutes effort try harder please it shows potential!!!

Most primary eastern countries don't celebrate Easter, Kearn.

i never said they did? the government in china isn't very receptive to the christians there, obviously it wouldn't be celebrated beyond the (large) christian community there

A large organization isn't required to promote a holiday, and ANYONE who complains about it is a religious wackjob who can't get their head out of their ass.

um are you ignorant too? i wondered why they prefer a worker's right activist over a major western holiday and somehow here we are

This is you, Kearn.  Grow the forget up.

it is me! also how did you know im short this is creepy should i call the fbi

yes, but the far east has a much larger buddhist and hindu population than muslim, and the near east and middle east are predominantly muslim

so you admit that they don't have a large christian population

so you admit that they don't have a large christian population

um if china's christian population growth rate is going to overtake the US in a few decades i'm pretty sure they have a large christian population already, but my point was that the buddhist and hindu religions are much more established in the far east than islam? i dunno how you're inferring that

actually did the calculation, according to estimates about 55 million christians in china, probably more unwilling to let the government know since it's still not very friendly to western religion

Kearn had to be that guy, didn't he?

You know, the guy that has to be all offended over something as trivial as a logo.

what is it with you guys, the very first post i made here was me not getting why they prefer a worker's rights advocate (and animals rights advocate hup) over a predominant western holiday i never said i was offended?

Exactly. He's proved my point that Easter is irrelevant to about a third of the world's population, which by his logic means that they are uncivilized.

ok kiddo since you dont seem to be able to read let me get my quote for you

cesar chavez is unknown to a majority of people unlike easter which everyone in civilized society knows about

basically everyone that is in a civilized society has heard of easter, i never said that they observe or care about it why do you keep bending things

Kearn, you seem to be missing the point. Google is celebrating an actual person who had actual accomplishments

and my point is that they're blowing off a holiday of significant cultural and religious importance

also implying jesus didnt exist ok

Google obviously feels that Cesar Chavez deserves a little recognition, so the arguable proposition that he is "unknown" might be the driving factor behind the doodle, Kearn.

this is actually a coherent argument

You made an issue out of it, though.  You're genuinely concerned with their choice, or else you wouldn't have cared to post.

obviously i care. is this news?

Really, it's as simple as this:  they prefer a real individual over your imaginary friend.  Get over it.

except jesus existed. was that a point?

Really?  As far as I'm concerned, it's the truth.  If these asswads can bitch piss and moan about their religious preferences not being followed, I can combat their stupidity with insult.

SHUT UP YOU JERK, NOBODY OUTSIDE OF CHURCH COMMUNITIES ACTUALLY CELEBRATES EASTER FOR ITS ORIGINAL MEANING ANYMORE AND I AM NOT TRYING TO FORCE OR EVEN BRING UP MY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ON YOU, SO HOW ABOUT YOU FOLLOW SUIT

Also, why would they support a worker's rights activist? Are you kidding? Why do we celebrate Martin Luther King day? Cesar Chavez deserves recognition for his struggle. Also, Google is a California company, and Casar Chavez is a major figure from modern Californian history.

In Texas and California is a state holiday called Cesar Chavez if I'm right.

Kearn, you seem to be missing the point. Google is celebrating an actual person who had actual accomplishments rather than a zombie bunny named jesus who stuffs eggs.

Not sure about Texas, but there is a Cesar Chavez day in California.

Google did nothing wrong. They just wanted to doodle Cesar Chavez instead of doing all of that crazy stuff.
Versions of Easter I know of;
Kids: Easter Bunny comes and stuffs eggs that have candy in them.
creepbears: Easter Bunny comes and stuffs eggs out that have candy in them. You bring some in your van and rape the kid that comes in.
Christians: The day Jesus died.
I didnt know Jesus died on easter

this is all new news to me

what is it with you guys, the very first post i made here was me not getting why they prefer a worker's rights advocate (and animals rights advocate hup) over a predominant western holiday

They don't prefer anything, it's just what the decided to put as their logo.

What's there to get?

i never said i was offended?

And you never had to. It's quite obvious...

um are you ignorant too? i wondered why they prefer a worker's right activist over a major western holiday and somehow here we are
