What we happen to be saying is that "British Food" is not very good. I'm sure the UK has fine food, but the originally British food is not amazing compared to most other European food. (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, etc.)
What do you consider "original" British food?
There are a number of dishes and things from all over Britain that are very nice. It all depends on what you're eating. Different regions will have different types of food.

I personally dislike sea-food, but there are a number of sea-food dishes that are world-renowned from Britain, or are iconic.
The only ones I really like are Cod as a typical Fish and Chips.

But then we have plenty of lovely foods that aren't sea-food.
Sausage and Mash
Beef and Onion Pies
Steak and Kidney Pies
Steak and Liver Pies
Shepherd's Pie
Cottage Pie (I'm listing a lot of pies here...)
Bubble and Squeak
Roast Dinners, with Yorkshire Puddings
Toad-in-the-hole
Gammon Steak and Egg

And then there are our Desserts.
Apple Crumble and Custard
Rhubarb and Custard
Custard
Trifle
Eton Mess
Christmas Pudding
Victoria Sponge Cake
Spotted richard
Treacle Pudding

There's a large number of dishes that are British (British being a very vague term), which are thoroughly enjoyed the world over.
There are many that I personally wouldn't consider great, but that's simply because I don't have the taste for them.
Whereas there are others I absolutely love, and would hate to imagine living life without having had it (Gammon Steak and Egg, as well as Custard)

Being British is nice, but it's got all it's downsides as being part of any country does.

There's always a stigma (that's likely self-imposed) for being from a successful country, like the UK or the USA.
And there's a long and interesting and proud history, which has equally upsetting and disappointing parts, that will always be remembered, for better or worse. And I know for a fact that all countries have these. I've argued enough with other members of these forums over them.
(Harm94 is a great person for those sorts of debates and arguments, because he knows a lot of international military history. You have to respect a person who knows of a lot, and can give a passionate argument.)

And then there are the cultural sides to it, which can come to blows with others.
And politics always ends up coming up in practically any argument with another Brit.

Oh well, atleast it's someone interested in the culture, lands and people.

But I really hope you don't base all your opinions off of a few prominent cases.
The entire country doesn't act like characters in Doctor Who, or Sherlock, or James Bond.
Nor do we all act like NerdCubed, or the Yogscast, or the people from Eddsworld, or whoever you watch on YouTube.
And we don't all act like the Royal Family. There are common people in Britain who live lives a million miles away from anything like the Upper classes do.

It's hard not to (and I know I do it in regards to others), but it's really best not to base all your views on a nation/race of people entirely on Stereotypes and a few choice examples.
There are people just like you in most countries around the world.

england invented the concentration camp

I have stopped bashing countries for little while now. However I still like to argue with people who like to bash the United State's and point our their nations flaws in to try to stop the spread of hate. Also history offers many lessons, I just wish some people would take it more seriously.

england invented the concentration camp
Ah yes the Boer War.

You've obviously never had a Yorkshire Pudding or Cornish Pasty

Why would you want to be anyone but yourself?

Why has no one acknowledged this fine speech?
There's not really much to say, it's a fine speech mainly about British cuisine.

I'm British. Our food is good and healthier than America.
Society is full of idiots.

Have I ever mentioned how much Furdle makes me ashamed to be British?

cant OP get banned for this??

ambiguous title too
