How do I find the length of the pink side of this figure?

Law of cosines. I would solve it for you but I'm going to bed. Hopefully Google can help you.

SIN 51 = 19/x is the equation you are looking for, I think.
The answer is 28.348512247

Pythagorean theorem

I forgot how to math though

Pythagorean theorem

had to log back in to address this. Since its not a right triangle the pythagorean theorem won't work... You might want to review the proof for it

Side A = Sqr(12^2 + 19^2 - 2(12)(19)(cos(99)))

Pythagorean theorem

Not a right triangle.

You don't know whether side CB is the hypotenuse or not.

sin51/19 = sin99/CB = sin30/12

You can use either sines or cosines here, since there's enough info for both. The answer is around 24-ish.

You don't know whether side CB is the hypotenuse or not.

it's opposite angle A, I think it's safe to assume the side opposite the widest angle is the hypotenuse.

Estimation is always the answer

so is this what high school is like?

not loooookin' forward to that

it's easier than it sounds. you get calculators anyway, no sane human would tell you to solve sines/cosines/tangents by hand.

I had a stuff trig teacher so I barely passed the final, but precalc is a breeze.

sweet, i hate confusing stuff so this'll be good

all I gotta say is, if you're having trouble with math in middle school, YOU SUCK

hell, I'm going to a technical college next year...I'll have to deal with REAL bullstuff math that probably won't make sense. high school is nothing.

math in middle school is pretty easy :D

I haven't done anything geometry related in 4 years.

You forgot comic sans ^_^
