Author Topic: How do I keep the internet active on sleep mode?  (Read 1409 times)

This has been nothing but confusing.

When I have a blockland dedicated server running my computer goes to sleep mode after a set amount of time, I turn my computer on and notice it shut down my internet and my server. So if I click "switch user" while running a dedicated server my computer goes to sleep mode but internet stays on.

I'm trying to loving download bioshock 2 which slows down my internet significantly and I clicked "switch user" and the loving stuff went to sleep mode and internet disabled and I'm left with no progress.

I'm pretty sure you can't. (I used Google so don't say I'm lazy.)

There is sleep, hybrid and hibernate. There must be something that allows my stuffty internet to stay on.

Would it stay on if I disable hard disk power management?

I read something that maybe disabling that might keep it on.

Why cant you just leave your computer on in regular not sleep mode?

Computers make noise, it takes me an hour to get to sleep with my computer on.

Maybe because his parents have to pay 936473$ for power bill.

The last time I did that with my old computer the heat sink burnt off.

Here's what I do: just change when it goes to sleep.

control panel > hardware and sound > power options > edit plan settings

I want to keep sleep mode though. I've been trying to mess around with advance settings.

He's obviously trying to get the Internet to work when it is in sleep mode.
