Author Topic: Earbuds?  (Read 2130 times)

I just bought these at bestbuy for 80 bucks, worth every penny, I talked to a bestbuy sales associate whose a good friend of mine and said he tells people to not buy beats at all because their overpriced for their quality.

Could have paid less online but I had cash on me and didn't want to deposit it at the bank and wait for shipping because spring break bitches

These are the skullcandy earbuds I currently own.  Also contain a button to pause/play/skip tracks on my phone, and also pick up/drop calls.  They work.  They're good.  They're not expensive.

Mine are valued at, well probably nothing. They aren't even a name brand.

I recently purchased some SoundMagic ES18s. For a pair of IEMs you can get for less than twenty bucks, these are pretty good ... at least from what I can tell. Definitely better than my old Skullcandy Ink'd set, though they might be lacking in 'wow' factor if you're used to the smiley face EQ curve.

I heard that at higher volume earbuds or what ever the hell you like to call them, can cause hearing damage because they are shooting the sound right in your ear, and there is less of your ear to absorb the loud music.

I own sennheiser HD 202 over ear headphones and love them. They sound good to me, but I'm no audiophile. Since I have had good experiences with sennheiser, I will look into buying some of their earbuds :D

This is the type of thinking that really grinds my gears. People have different hobbies. Music to you may just be "whatever" and you can listen to it on some $3 earbuds or something, but for others they are really passionate about it and hence go farther for it.

Your thinking can be used for anything. I'm sure if you substituted music for computers, that would bother a vast majority of people here because for the most part we game on PC. "Why use the best quality computer parts, would you REALLY care that much about computers to where it would be worth it all?"

I guess you're just really close minded and can't understand that though.

I believe he was just asking a straightforward question, I don't think he was trying to offend anybody.

Seriously this, I enjoy music, I want to learn to play the guitar and refuse to buy cheap earbuds because I like quality sound, I blast music everyday, I love music, it was just a question. If you perceive me as close minded, you have no idea how far off you are.

I don't typically have my earbuds that loud since it cancels the sound out around me anyways, I usually have my computer speakers blasting.

-snip-
A major problem with that graph is that the frequency response only covers a range of 10Hz to 10kHz, while a graph on all of the important frequencies would go to at least 20kHz. This seems a little shady and casts doubt on whether or not the other graphs have the complete information.

I found the website where they got their information, and they oversimplified a lot of it and probably didn't read everything. Some of the lines they say should be flat actually aren't supposed to be so flat.
