Author Topic: Steam online status  (Read 1261 times)

Greetings fellow plastic brick enthusiasts, I am here to ask a question.

I have been having conversations with people through steam, and they sometimes become unresponsive, then steam says that they are 'away.'
Does it do this when you aren't doing anything on your pc? Or for some reason do they get bored of my magnificent conversation skills, and set it themselves, hoping that I will stop talking?

     -Great thanks, Scorch.

Off topic: Steam should add more status options or have a custom status maker.

And on topic,
both can be true

When someone doesn't respond in a time period it will say they are away.

away is like 10 mins idle and busy is 1 hour idle then snooze is 2 hours

its auto set

away is like 10 mins idle and busy is 1 hour idle then snooze is 2 hours

its auto set

Only when you have a chat window open? or if you are off of your pc for a while?

I think when you're off in general.

if you havnt hit a key or moved the mouse

It's always them trying to make you stop talking

Always

Yeah, pretty sure away is auto/manual, busy is manual, and snooze can't be set manually.
