Author Topic: Low FPS on Powder Toy  (Read 11190 times)

Okay, so I've wanted to play on The Powder Toy. I used to play it on other computers and much faster speeds, but a rate of frames-per-second averaging at 20 is making the game really slow and undesirable.

I don't know if this helps, but here.

It looks just fine for playing a little flash game, maybe update your drivers?

Updated every driver I could. I loaded a city and got about 10 FPS. About six when I tried to put a little powder in. :'^(

Is Powder Toy fully updated?

Updated to the latest stable version.

Hm, I really don't know. I can run Powder at a good FPS on this potato of a computer I got.
And it lags on HL1

I get 60FPS on powder.

Are you running powder-legacy?

Are you filling the entire screen with particles?

Are you filling the entire screen with particles?
Not really. If I load something like Arctic City 2, I get about 12FPS and in Vault Tec, Vault 1 I get about 16FPS.

1.5ghz?
It's time to get a better CPU.

Then something is wrong. My dad's ~5 year old laptop can play Arctic City 2 at around 30 FPS. That thing can't even run 720p video properly.

I only get 8.5 fps on my current simulation. :c
