Author Topic: General confusion regarding maps.  (Read 407 times)

Hey, everyone.

I haven't played Blockland in a while, and I was surprised to see that there were no more maps, excluding the slate variants that you can mix and match. I couldn't find anything relating to this through the forums, and it seemed strange to me after returning from a few months absence. If someone could explain, I would appreciate it.

The maps, bedroom, terrain, all that fancy old stuff got removed because King Kompressor wanted the shadows to rade.

There's now environments, slate maps you can customize with lighting, colors, etc. Much more advance than Slate edits.

we phased them out cause they're hella inefficient and were typically awful on the whole. instead, we've got shaders 'n shadows, which let you add depth to your build with better lightplay and effects

(assuming people turn them on.)

but to be blunt with you i think we got rid of them because people were using them to get around having to actually build

people just used gsf_whatevertheforget instead of making something out of, you know, bricks. which sort of defeats the purpose of the game.

what they said.
