Author Topic: Do you even lift?  (Read 2818 times)

uhm
my gym intructor requires that we put 25 pound weights on our gym books
because uhm
we need books in gym class

aka i am the fittest

It's really unneeded for anything other than fighting, and a person with a pen knife could put you down in two seconds no matter how strong you are. Walking is the best thing to do if you want to be healthy, and if you want to fight you should just take some sort of self defense class.
hmm let's see
being attractive? huge muscles is not hot imo but I can totally dig a guy who's toned
then there's the whole intimidation thing. most people aren't gonna try to mug you if you look like you could break their face
plus, since muscle is so inefficient, it's a lot easier to keep fat away if you have some

I actually lift regularly now, but only endurance lifting because it works better with my MMA training

Monday and Friday:
Leg press - 140 lbs, 3 sets of 25
Deadlift - 135 lbs, 3 sets of 20
Leg curl - ~30 lbs?(idk i'm lazy with this one), 3 sets of 25
A bunch of ab crap, that I don't want to explain, for 5 minutes
Agility and taekwondo training with weights strapped to my legs for 45 minutes

Tuesday and Thursday:
Arm curls - 30 lbs each arm, 3 sets of 15
Bench press - 95, 3 sets of 10
Pec dec - 70 lbs, 3 sets of 15
Lat pull down - 90 lbs, 3 sets of 10
Tricep dumbell extensions - 30 lbs, 3 sets of 20
One-handed pushup claps -10 per arm (none of that cheap-ass wide-leg crap)
Muay thai/general boxing training with weights on my arms for 45 minutes

Wednesday:
Break

Weekends:
sparring/training/hanging out with my team or more break days

my routine changes constantly depending on what I need to work more

EDIT: 5' 10" @ 139 lbs

I climb trees and bike ride.
I can lift 160, bench idk
I can do 10 pull ups
I'm 130 pounds

I failed physical education 7 times, is this good?

I did math and I have 150-200 miles in on bike riding in the last couple of years.
Its 150 at the least.

I would type mine but I cannot find my paper so I cannot tell you exactly what I do

when I think about I ride my bike ~7 miles a week, which would add up to 364 miles a year lol

but biking isn't lifting yo

Its good for you however.

You'll never truly understand this enough to weigh the pros and cons of having muscle mass until you get muscle mass yourself. Don't assume people get muscle just to beat people up.

Muscle mass increases your metabolic rate, which means you're burning more calories even when you're not working out. More muscle mass results in a higher level of energy. Muscular people tend to get less affected by fatigue than those with average musculature and they also have considerably longer stamina than somebody who doesn't work out. Working out can reduce the risk of fractures, promote healthy bone density and improve balance and coordination. This can prevent falls. Not to mention the fact that it gives you a much better posture and it has the ability to relieve stress.

I'm recovering from a recurring back injury at the moment but I'm currently rocking this routine:
M: Chest, Back
T: Rest or Biceps and Triceps if I can't make it to the gym on Wednesday
W: Biceps, Triceps
T: Back, Shoulders
F: Rest or Chest and Shoulders if I can't make it to the gym on Saturday
S: Chest and Shoulders
S: Biceps and Triceps

Bench: 110 pounds to warm up, leading up to 176 pounds
Deadlift: I can't deadlift because of my injury
Squat: I can't squat because of my injury, even though I'd probably be okay with squatting I'd rather not risk it right now
