Author Topic: How do I port forward?  (Read 1306 times)

Is there a updated tutorial on port forwarding?
UPnP works for me, I just want to port forward so it doesn't break when I'm hosting my server.

Went there, theres the outdated port forwarding, theres another one, but I don't see the model I have in that list that you have to go into.

Then do a Google search for "yourmodel name/number port forwarding".

Is there any updated tutorial as of the past couple 2 years for Blockland?

Go to portforward.com
Skip ad
Select router brand, router model
Select Blockland
Follow tutorial

And skip the part where it wants you to setup a static ip address

Dude, the tutorial Badspot has for port forwarding isn't "outdated" it's not like port forwarding changed in te last couple years, Badspot's guide is actually the best as he even shows you how to assign a local static IP which almost NO OTHER tutorial shows that when it comes to port forwarding for games.

You SHOULD have set up a static IP (locally at least), if your router turns off/on or maybe you change networks and then go back you may get a different local IP which will then make you have to reassign your new IP on port forwarding for Blockland.

You don't need it unless you're going to host 24/7

My router is wired to my computer, I can't change networks.
And it is always on.

Alright, id do it anyways rather future proof yourself now since your setting it up then wanting to host a server with friends and then making them wait because you need to change the IP again. Follow Badspot's port forward guide though its fine. (you can disclude the static ip part if you want to)
