I know of no reason why you were de-admined, if you will discuss it with me, there is a good chance i'll give you your admin back. It will have to be late this afternoon though, im about to go to class.

I have no particular interest in going back because I know majority of the admin team will hold the same rules above their heads like vultures. The way I see the "no insulting admins" rule, it's meant to be more like a 'don't question their authority.' I jokingly called 3-4 admins various names. 3 of them laughed with me, alpha quoted the rule and started getting Butthurt about it. He told an SA, and he de-admined me. He dared me to insult him, so I response with "lol urgay"

Ideally it was deserved. I dont need admin, nor do I see the need to return.
Sorry lol

I went on my phone to browse the forums to take a look and stroll around, then I had to get my iPad out to type all this up, because I have some things to explain.
You're moaning about an add-on which you can either choose to use or not, if you don't like it, delete it and wait for tophius to update it, it's not a big issue, you're just making it look like that when it clearly isn't, we all know add-ons can get affected by major updates like there has been in the last year.
Second, why are you moaning about stuffty servers? Why don't you spend your time and make one yourself? I don't know about you but many of us have a life to live rather than spending most of our time on the internet, building servers for pleasure. I don't think any servers are stuff, at all. It totally depends on what standards you have and what genre of gaming you like, depending on whether you like DM's, racing servers, or whatever the forget tickles your fancy.
The community isn't dying at all, we may have lost a lot of users when we first got shaders due to compatability issues and whatnot, but that doesn't mean the community is dying, at all. I think that people are joining every day to replace the oldcigarettes within this community, it isn't bad at all. It was like when you was new, oldcigarettes at that time were loosing interest in the game. I had a 2 year break from this game, people might just be having breaks. Or it's possibly to do with work and school, not everyone has spare time to play on brick games.

I'm sorry but
that's invalid

some people have reasons to not host
like internet issues
personal issues
people hate them
too expensive for a dedicated server

etc
trust me
if some of us were able to host
we would

I understand. But aren't you just giving horrible examples? People hating is all the more reason to gain back respect to the person and make them get hated less. I myself will pay for people who need a hosting service, if the server is groundbreaking enough to cut into my funds, I'd be happy to buy hosting for people in return of them getting their idea better.
Personal issues? Give me an example because I can't see anything that'd hold me back if I was the most self concious person.

Regarding servers, I am working on a "deep" TDM server with plenty of features. I hope it will be pretty hefty for players to actually play on it.

Though I respect that, he IS right. I should host, and I can. The problem is, I've been planning it, and working constantly. The second any update comes out, I get 3-4 texts from BL friends to get it. I got tophius's wedges update, and now half my map is gone to hell. I either need to override his update, wait for a fix, or re-do about 2 hours worth of work (replacing all the corner bricks)

That and I'm recovering from surgery, so sitting up hurts, and the medication I'm taking makes it impossible to focus. I'm literally typing this response over the course of what feels like half an hour because I keep blurring out.

So yeah believe me, I'm working on hosting, but it's not something that happens over night.

Zay had a cool server up yesterday, you probably missed it.

AdinX went there.

Anywho, what most enfuriates me is how people join crap servers and only focus on those and keep moaning, when they don't see the good servers on the list. Also how low quality servers actually get players.

Oldcigarette here, I was losing interest so I took a break so I could do college things. This is a true statement.

That was a lot of fun, but that was around 8PM EST I believe. At that point I was bored out of my mind and about ready to just go to bed early.

Tezuni's jail and Zay's TDM were the BL highlights of my day (I was pretty tired yesterday though)

And your indeed right, the negative server get the bad wrap, but they fill up and people assume more people == more fun. I'm guilty of that assumption as well. Zay's, had you not irc'd me, I wouldn't have had a chance to kick your ass last night ;P

I also heard a rumor that Kong will be hosting his death race again soon.

Sounds to me that the main issue is finding a good server. It could also be the reason why good servers aren't being hosted. I mean, why make a server when everyone is just going to go straight to the more known and popular ones? Seems like I would have to get into too much "politics" to win over some players for my servers (I'm speaking in general). The only thing people have in finding a type of server they want is the server name and player name.

I am almost certain that people who have really fun ideas don't bother because of the problem with finding players

...also, connection issues and other technical things (I can't host due to my connection), but difficulties finding specific servers is a main issue, imo.

The problem is that there are few quality servers anymore. There are bad servers and they're the ones with major functionality and gameplay flaws.

Would someone happen to have a fix to tophius's bricks update, btw? That would be swell.

Do you have an older version which you have archived?

Do you have an older version which you have archived?
I do on a drop box account I share with my co-host, but every time I try and log in it asks me if I want to re-register the service. If I say no, it'll keep asking me.

So not easily accessed, but I can try in a little bit.

true on so many levels

I understand. But aren't you just giving horrible examples? internet issues is not a thing to underestimate People hating is all the more reason to gain back respect to the person and make them get hated less. True. I myself will pay for people who need a hosting service, if the server is groundbreaking enough to cut into my funds, I'd be happy to buy hosting for people in return of them getting their idea better.I'd like to honestly see that. Usually people hesitate when the times actually comes.
Also define "Groundbreaking ENOUGH"

Personal issues? Give me an example because I can't see anything that'd hold me back if I was the most self concious person.
for example "Don't take money from strangers" "Don't give any information away (Including information for dedicated services)" "Don't give money to strangers" "don't download anything suspicious"
The possibilities are just endless.

I have good news (kinda)

I managed to figure out the password to my shared dropbox account, and luckily my co-host is lazy so he hasn't touched the dropbox account at ALL.

I have the unmodified wedge add-on. But this is where uncertainty settles in: can I just delete the previous "Brick_Wedge.zip" and copy this file over to take it's place, or is there something a little more complicated to it? Also, I need it to NOT automatically update, so hopefully it won't but I assume RTB has a way to check if I need the update.
