Capable of taking down planes and drones from the sky and boats with pinpoint accuracy.
Cost only $1 worth of electricity to take out a small drone.
Go read the news articles about it, then discuss here.

For some reason I remember seeing about this a long time ago?

Was probably a concept or something and not an actual working thing.

Neat!

to be honest, I'm more interested in the flying boats

old tech is best. we still got artillery on our battleships that can arch over the horizon and shoot ships we cant technically see.
cant do that with straight line lasers :p

yeah but with lasers you don't have to worry about leading your target

Same, but I thought it destroyed missiles.

I think I remember the same thing, but this is something else probably, although I'd bet it would work against missiles too

Reminds me of Blockland laser weapon.

Maybe it takes too long to focus enough to do damage to a missile? I don't really know how laser weaponry works, so that might not make any sense at all.

planes and drones are probably harder to damage than missiles, but missiles are significantly smaller targets
