Author Topic: My School's General Attitude Toward Gay Marriage (FB Thread)  (Read 1417 times)

so this is what my school actually thinks

kind of terrifying because supposedly my school is elite and most of our alumni are engineers, lawyers, politicians, doctors, or on wall street.

reactions?

i dont see the logic in this day and age for ANYONE to get married lol.
its a religous aspect, and the "american dream" aspect solely. both died out many years ago and no longer apply.

why on earth do you want to start sharing depts and kids together with divorce rates as they are?
you arent special, you arent excluded from those odds lol.

if 2 people love each other, there has never been anything throughout history to stop them from living together and sharing a life and such. getting a legal paper for it means really.... im not sure, only insurrance family plans seem to be unique to that requirement lol.

you can already add people to bank accounts, credit cards, financing anything on earth, using a public park teeter totter... dont need to be married.
its pretty useless lol

in several countries, gay love is illegal (and it used to be that way in several US states), and I'm pretty sure that just being gay is punishable by death in at least one country

who said anything about being gay? im talking about making your own personal unions. that may or may not have to have anything to do with homoloveuals.
its all the same thing. everything i said applies to 2 straight guys, 3 straight woman in a household. 10 gay men at once. its allllllll the same and nothing has stopped them anywhere.

To my knowledge, there are tax benefits for being married. And you can, like, get better visitation rights for the ER and prison and whatnot.

Plus it's an equality thing.

actually taxes are WORSE if your married.

and anyone can have full rights at hospital visits. its whoever the person tells them to allow, or has on their emergency info from their job or such.

wow today i am finding out that a lot of my friends are very homophobic

i am very surprised

most of them are just spewing the rehearsed comments that religion gives them or something.
it dosnt even sound like it's their own thoughts.

While I agree with your sentiment that marriage is pretty pointless, isn't it a person's choice to do what they want with their life?

shoot up your school talk to hem intelligently
better yet, there was along string of images on some TV show where a president or someone is logically destroying the family values argument piece by piece using the Bible itself but I have no idea where it is or what to google :c
