When all the servers on blockland went down, was this a massive update or something?
Anyone know?

Probs just maintenance or a crash.

Ikr, people here don't seem to understand the word maintenance or that it is requires. They think these things are suppose to run 24/7 on end (which they are but a reboot is required or should be done at least so and so years).

No, the issue is that people think updates require downtime lol. That should rarely be the case, particularly with entirely web-based systems like Blockland. If you're having server downtime to update a web application you're doing it wrong.

So what went wrong with the master server?

As Ephi said, it's most likely not an update, rather a server downtime.

You're probably right, the only thing I know from using CentOS (Badspot uses Redhat I believe, centos is based on redhat) and probably almost any OS is that if you make changes to certain services you are required to restart it which I guess is what could have caused the downtime? Again this is probably for only certain stuff such as things with the website I am guessing,
